In briefChecked October 2026

Provacyl is marketed for andropause (age-related testosterone decline). The dose is 4 capsules. It mixes a hormone, 20 mg of DHEA, with small amounts of D-aspartic acid, ZMA, muira puama, ginkgo, ginseng and other botanicals, and it adds an amino acid portion with no amounts given. Nobody has tested it as a product, and it hasn't been shown to raise testosterone or growth hormone. Avoid it unless a doctor advises otherwise if you have a prostate or other hormone-sensitive condition, or if you're a tested athlete.

Our Verdict: Does Provacyl Earn Its Price?

💬 The Trusted Health Reviews editors' verdict
Some men want one broad 'andropause' formula, and Provacyl is built for that. The catch: its label is a long list of mostly small doses next to 20 mg of DHEA, and the finished product hasn't been tested. As DHEA is a hormone, prostate or other hormone-sensitive conditions, and competing in tested sport, are reasons to avoid it unless a doctor advises otherwise.

Below we cover the contents of Provacyl, what the underlying research really shows, the side effects and the guarantee terms. We suggest reading the whole analysis before you decide.

Provacyl in Brief

Ingredients More than a dozen ingredients, mostly in small doses, with 20 mg of DHEA. No amounts are listed for the amino acid portion.
Evidence Provacyl itself hasn't been tested. In a two-year trial, DHEA at almost four times this dose did not help older men.
Transparency Most doses are listed (via a third-party listing). Amino acid amounts are undisclosed, and we did not check the official site.
Safety DHEA is a hormone with prostate cautions and a ban in tested sport. Ginkgo is in there too, and it may raise bleeding risk.
Value Price unverified (the official site could not be checked in October 2026).

Each product is judged on ingredients and doses, published evidence, openness about the formula, guarantee terms, safety and value. Our review process

What Is Provacyl?

Leading Edge Health sells Provacyl, according to third-party listings, as a multi-ingredient product for age-related hormone shifts in men. The lowest-dose items per 4-capsule serving are phytosterol complex 25 mg, soy phosphate complex 25 mg and longjack (tongkat ali) 25 mg, followed by Swedish flower pollen 40 mg. Next come Panax ginseng 100 mg, chaste berry 125 mg, ginkgo biloba 125 mg and muira puama 150 mg. At the top end sit ZMA 215 mg and D-aspartic acid 300 mg. DHEA is listed at 20 mg. GABA and L-arginine are named in an amino acid portion that has no amounts. The label comes from a third-party listing, and the official site didn't let us confirm it.

*Dietary supplement. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.

Active Ingredients, One by One

Here is each listed ingredient, with what human studies have examined, using doses from a third-party label listing:

DHEA (20 mg) Hormone

The body can convert this hormone into testosterone and estrogen. A two-year trial in older men gave 75 mg a day and saw no gains in body composition, strength or quality of life. Provacyl has 20 mg.

Muira Puama (150 mg) Traditional

This herb comes from traditional Amazonian use. Human evidence on libido is very limited.

L-Arginine (amount not disclosed) Amino Acid

The L-arginine dose isn't disclosed, and no study of Provacyl has measured growth hormone. Growth hormone claims therefore can't be supported.

D-Aspartic Acid (300 mg) Low Dose

In trained men, 3 g a day (ten times this dose) still didn't raise testosterone.

Ginkgo Biloba (125 mg) Botanical

Researchers have mostly studied it for memory and circulation, with mixed results. With blood thinners, or ahead of surgery, it may raise bleeding risk.

Also on the label are ZMA, chaste berry, Panax ginseng, Swedish flower pollen, longjack (tongkat ali), soy phosphate complex and phytosterol complex, plus GABA in the amino acid portion (amounts above). Most are far below the doses researchers use. Studies of longjack, for instance, typically go well past 25 mg. Provacyl contains soy.

Where we have reservations

To give a fair picture, here are the drawbacks we think buyers should weigh:

  • →Provacyl itself has no clinical trial
  • →DHEA is a hormone with prostate cautions, and it is banned in tested sport
  • →A two-year trial in older men found no meaningful benefit from DHEA at almost four times this dose
  • →The amino acid portion is undisclosed, and most other ingredients are well below researched doses
  • →The official site didn't let us confirm the label, price or guarantee terms

When Results Might Show Up

Because Provacyl hasn't been tested as a product, there's no reliable data on whether it works or how fast:

1

The First Weeks: No Reliable Data

No product data exists on timing, or on effects on energy and sleep.

2

Months 2–3: Still Nothing to Go On

No trial has measured hormone changes from Provacyl, and most ingredients sit below researched doses.

⚠️ Keep in mind: Responses to supplements vary, and nothing here is a promise. The maker advertises a 67-day guarantee. Check the official terms first.

What the research says

  • The product's own trial: None has been published. Provacyl hasn't been tested as a finished product.
  • Ingredients: Older men in a two-year trial funded by the NIH took 75 mg/day of DHEA, almost four times the 20 mg in Provacyl. Their body composition, physical performance, insulin sensitivity and quality of life did not improve. Trained men taking 3 g/day of D-aspartic acid saw no rise in testosterone, whereas Provacyl has 300 mg. The 'HGH' claim can't be checked, since amino acid doses aren't disclosed.
  • Doses on the label: A third-party listing shows most of them. The amino acid portion (GABA, L-arginine) has no amounts. The official site did not confirm any of this.
  • Guarantee: Third-party listings describe a 67-day money-back guarantee 'subject to return terms'. We haven't verified the exact conditions.

Strengths & Drawbacks

What works in its favor

  • ✓Most ingredient doses are on the label
  • ✓Several ingredients have traditional use for male libido and energy
  • ✓A 67-day money-back guarantee is advertised
  • ✓An established supplement company sells it

Considerations

  • ✗DHEA is a hormone with prostate cautions, and it is banned in tested sport
  • ✗No clinical trial of Provacyl exists, and a two-year trial in older men found no meaningful anti-aging benefit from DHEA
  • ✗The amino acid portion is undisclosed, and most ingredients are well below researched doses
  • ✗Ginkgo may raise bleeding risk with blood thinners

Who Should Skip Provacyl

  • ✗Anyone under 18, and anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding
  • ✗Men with prostate cancer, an enlarged prostate or another hormone-sensitive condition, unless a doctor advises it
  • ✗Tested athletes, since the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list includes DHEA
  • ✗Anyone on blood thinners or facing surgery (ginkgo)
  • ✗Anyone allergic to soy

This list is not exhaustive. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before you take any supplement.

How Safe Is Provacyl?

DHEA can be converted by the body into testosterone and estrogen, and no one is sure about its long-term safety. Ginkgo may raise bleeding risk, while ginseng can cause sleeplessness and may affect blood sugar. Speak to a doctor before you take it.

What We Know

Provacyl has DHEA, a hormone that carries prostate and other hormone-related cautions. Ginkgo, also in the formula, may raise bleeding risk. Soy is another ingredient.

Talk to your doctor first if:

  • ● You have prostate problems or another hormone-sensitive condition
  • ● You use blood thinners or have surgery coming up
  • ● You have diabetes or use blood sugar medicines (ginseng)
  • ● You compete in tested sport
  • ● You are under 18

Provacyl: Our Final Verdict

Provacyl suits, at most, a man who wants a wide-ranging 'andropause' formula and accepts its limits. The label is mostly small doses plus 20 mg of DHEA, with no test of the product itself. Men with prostate or other hormone-sensitive conditions and tested athletes should avoid it unless a doctor advises otherwise, because DHEA is a hormone.

A fit for: men over 40 who have discussed DHEA with a doctor and still want a broad, multi-ingredient formula.

Not a fit for: anyone expecting proven testosterone or growth hormone effects, men with prostate or other hormone-sensitive conditions, tested athletes, and people taking blood thinners.

Your questions, answered

As a hormone, DHEA has uncertain long-term safety and can alter testosterone and estrogen levels. Without a doctor's advice, men with prostate cancer, an enlarged prostate or another hormone-sensitive condition shouldn't take it. WADA prohibits DHEA, so tested athletes should avoid it.

It contains DHEA and ginkgo, so see a doctor first, especially with prostate problems, blood thinners or upcoming surgery. Ginseng can also affect sleep and blood sugar.

Buy from the official website, where the advertised 67-day guarantee applies. Read the guarantee conditions before you order.

Anyone under 18, anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, and anyone allergic to soy should skip it. So should men with prostate cancer, an enlarged prostate or other hormone-sensitive conditions, tested athletes and people on blood thinners, unless a doctor advises otherwise.
