Provestra Review: Does This Women's Formula Work?

Provestra is a daily herbal and vitamin pill marketed for women's libido. We look at the ingredients, why there's no product trial, safety cautions and the 67-day guarantee.

In briefChecked October 2026

Nobody can say, since Provestra has never gone through a clinical trial. One daily pill carries 21 herbs, vitamins and minerals on the current label, among them black cohosh, licorice, damiana, ginkgo and valerian, and no amounts are given. We name it our alternative pick for women's libido supplements, behind HerSolution. Expect modest results at best. Black cohosh and licorice also come with real cautions.

The Provestra ingredient list

The official product page, as of October 2026, shows 21 ingredients: L-arginine, theobromine, indole-3-carbinol, ginseng, ginkgo biloba, damiana leaf, black cohosh, red raspberry, licorice root, ginger root, valerian root, kudzu, vitamins A, C and E, B-complex vitamins, folic acid, biotin, calcium, iron and zinc. It gives no amounts. Older pages mentioned red clover, but it's no longer listed.

Packing 21 ingredients into one daily pill suggests most are present in small amounts. None can be lined up with doses used in research.

What the research says

No trial of Provestra has been published. The sales page points to a survey of past buyers, and that isn't a controlled study. The best-studied herb in the blend is black cohosh, and even for hot flashes its evidence is mixed. Several rigorous trials found it no better than placebo, and a 2012 Cochrane review called the evidence insufficient. For libido there's no research on it.

Your questions, answered

No clinical trial of Provestra exists and the ingredient amounts aren't disclosed, so we can't say. Black cohosh, its best-studied herb, has mixed evidence for hot flashes and none for libido.

No, it has no hormones. Even so, black cohosh, kudzu and indole-3-carbinol act on hormones in some way. Women with hormone-sensitive conditions, or those using hormone therapy, should check with their doctor first.

With no trial, there's nothing to build a timeline on. The company suggests a 60-day try, and for a refund the returned containers must reach its warehouse within 67 days of delivery.

It hasn't been studied in menopausal women. Black cohosh has been tied to rare liver injury and licorice may raise blood pressure. Women with liver, heart, kidney or blood pressure problems should skip it or ask a doctor first.

We rank HerSolution first among women's libido supplements, with Provestra as the alternative. Neither has a published trial, and neither discloses ingredient amounts. HerSolution contains six ingredients. Provestra contains 21, vitamins and minerals among them.
