Supplements for Women Over 50: How the Ones We Review Compare
This guide is for women over 50 and covers skin, bladder, libido and longevity products after menopause. We explain what each contains, what the evidence is and which cautions to check first.
Affiliate disclosure: The brands we review pay us commissions, and you pay nothing extra. We only cover brands we have affiliate relationships with, so our top picks are the best of the products we cover, not the best of every product on the market.
In briefChecked October 2026
We rank five products for women over 50. 1) Kollagen Intensiv, a face cream and our top pick among anti-aging face creams. 2) Confitrol24, our top pick among bladder-support supplements. 3) GenuinePurity Spermidine. 4) GenuinePurity NMN-H. 5) Provestra. Evidence ranges widely, and your doctor can walk you through every menopause option, hormone therapy included.
Where to Start After Menopause
Lower estrogen after menopause touches skin, bone density, heart health, libido and bladder function. Your doctor can explain every option, hormone therapy among them. At most, creams and supplements play a supporting part, and the evidence behind the products below varies a great deal.
The Products We Cover, in Ranked Order
Kollagen Intensiv · Top pick: anti-aging face creams — This is a topical face cream, not a supplement, and it combines the SYN-COLL peptide with retinol. The cream has no published trial. Retinol is the best-supported ingredient, but its concentration isn't disclosed.
Confitrol24 · Top pick: bladder-support supplements — It uses the Urox botanical blend, aimed at bladder urgency and frequency. One published 8-week placebo-controlled trial of the blend exists, and the company funded it. Confitrol24 doesn't say whether it has the trial dose. Check with a doctor first about any new bladder symptoms.
GenuinePurity Spermidine · Best for: spermidine on its own — 8 mg of spermidine a day. Animal and observational data look promising. Still, the best human trial (0.9 mg a day for a year) found no memory benefit, and long-term safety at 8 mg is unknown.
GenuinePurity NMN-H · NMN alternative (newer form) — Reduced NMN, a newer NAD+ precursor. We found no peer-reviewed human trial. The evidence comes mainly from cell and mouse studies, and the dose per serving is unverified.
Provestra · Alternative pick: women's libido supplements — A tablet of 21 herbal and vitamin ingredients that includes black cohosh and licorice. It has no published trial and discloses no doses. Women with liver, heart or blood pressure problems should skip it or ask a doctor first.
Our order for the products we cover: Kollagen Intensiv (a face cream, and our top pick among anti-aging face creams), then Confitrol24 (top pick among bladder-support supplements), GenuinePurity Spermidine, GenuinePurity NMN-H and Provestra. None of these takes the place of medical advice on menopause.
Hormone therapy is a prescription treatment that carries both benefits and risks, and your doctor can help you weigh them. The supplements covered here have far less evidence behind them.
Kollagen Intensiv is a topical cream and not a collagen supplement. It has no published trial, and its SYN-COLL data come from the supplier and the brand. Of its ingredients, retinol has the best independent evidence.
The evidence is mixed. Black cohosh, the best-studied herb in Provestra, did no better than placebo in several rigorous trials, and a 2012 Cochrane review judged the evidence insufficient. Women with hormone-sensitive conditions or liver problems should speak with their doctor first.
No single list fits everyone. Talk with your doctor about bone health and about any supplements. Treat the products in this guide as optional extras: the evidence behind them runs from one company-funded trial (the Urox blend in Confitrol24) down to none.
